Mat Jessep is an integrity consultant and commercial and corporate lawyer with specialist skills and experience in Sports, Media, and Business, acting for clients across Australia, and in New Zealand, Asia, North America, the UK, and Europe. 

​

Bio:

 

Mat is experienced in commercial and corporate matters, including: incorporation, corporate restructuring, M&A transactions, capital raises - incl. crowd funding, share issues and sales, and debt capital - commercial contracts, IP and brand management, licensing, franchising, leasing, procurement, company secretarial, governance, and regulatory and compliance matters.

In 2019 Mat founded Game Legal to deliver focused corporate and commercial legal advice to Sports, Media, and Business clients.

In 2022, following various consulting engagements in sports integrity, Mat established Game Integrity to deliver integrity training, policies, reviews, investigations, and reports.

 

Mat is admitted in the Supreme Court of NSW and is on the roll of the High Court of Australia. He also teaches as a Senior Fellow at the University of Melbourne Law School and as a casual academic at the University of Technology Sydney in the Law faculty and Business School.

Mat’s background pre-law includes marketing, brand management, and product marketing roles in sport, transport, tourism, and automative sectors, as well as military service in the Royal Australian Air Force from 2001-03.

Mat regularly speaks on sports law and integrity topics at conferences and to the media.

• Teaching - developing and delivering educational courses, lectures and seminars on sports and entertainment business and legal topics.
